About the project
Living in an era when everyone who has a phone is constantly creating and consuming various, unjustified content, the big story often lags behind. There is a need for curation. Over the past more than 30 years, snowboarding has proven that much of its charm comes not from athletic performance, but from the style, culture, and commitment of unique characters on stage, in the media, and in the industry. These are the ones that give stories worth reading today, tomorrow and in 5 years. That's what a Curator is. Those who have decided that snowboarding is an important part of their life are those who inspire others to snowboard. The Curator is a new platform for this source of inspiration.
For me, this project was the first international one and my participation in it was not limited to the role of a photographer.
A lot of work has been done since meeting the editor-in-chief of the project Tassilo Hager and before the official presentation of the book.
It all started in June when we started discussing possible versions of the article. Tassilo was interested in interesting material from Russia, so without hesitation I suggested him to write the story of one of the most famous snowboarders of our country Denis Leontiev "Bonus". Then the most difficult thing began, the writing of the material, its translation, coordination. All this work fell on my shoulders, it was a unique experience, confirming that the work of a photographer is much more difficult than it seems. After two months, we approved the final text of the article and sent it to the press. On January 25, 2020, a presentation of the book took place in Munich. Now the book is available to order anywhere in the world through the official website
